The Ramos Fizz has a long history as a popular cocktail—it dates back to 1888, when it was first concocted by Henry C. Ramos at the Imperial Cabinet Saloon in New Orleans.
Ingredients
11⁄2 ounces gin
Juice of 1 lime
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon confectioners’ sugar
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 egg white
4 drops orange flower water
Splash club soda
Directions
In a cocktail shaker combine the gin, lime juice, lemon juice, confectioners’ sugar, cream, egg white, and orange flower water filled with ice. Shake vigorously for about 1 minute. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top off the glass with club soda and serve
